In Defense of Diane Reidy
On October 15, 2013, the U.S. Senate passed its bill to end the shutdown that was manufactured by the Republican cult faction, the Tea Party. The Tea Party was outraged because they were soundly defeated in the 2012 election, and were unable to stop health care legislation that was passed by both houses of Congress three years earlier and deemed Constitutional by the U.S. Supreme court. (If you're a parent, the word "tantrum" comes to mind.)
For the bill to become law, it required passage by the U.S. House of Representatives, and of course approval by the president, Barack Obama. While the House vote was concluding, a long-time House stenographer, Diane Reidy, went to the microphone and started speaking:
Is anything Ms. Reidy said anywhere near as crazy as that said by Michele Bachmann during her more sane moments? Bachmann proposed impeaching the president if the government defaulted, even though it would have been caused by her Tea Party cult.
No, Ms. Reidy was finally driven over the edge because of her duties, which required her to transcribe all of the spoken lunacy in the House, day after day after day. Just like what happens to sane people when they watch Fox "News." It would drive anyone over the edge.
So give the poor woman a break.

“Do not be deceived. God shall not be mocked. A House divided cannot stand. He will not be mocked, He will not be mocked. He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been, it would not have been … No. It would not have been. The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons … and go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ.”Of course, she was removed from the floor because crazy talk is not allowed on the floor of a sacred institution like the House of Representatives of the United States of America. However, is Ms. Reidy any crazier than the Tea Party Republicans who would shut down the Government, and allow it to default on its financial obligations? -- obligations that had been previously authorized by law passed by Democrats and Republicans and signed by the president.
